Job Title: VP of Sales and Retention
Time at Experience: 4 years, 10 months
What brought you to Experience?
Prior to working at Experience, I worked in the NFL for 7 memorable seasons. Working in professional sports was something I always aspired to do but I was also really interested in the technology world. After visiting Atlanta and meeting everyone at Experience, the culture is what really drew me in. Looking at this almost 5 years later, the culture is what still motivates and inspires me every single day. I’m truly thankful for what we have going on here. At the end of the day, if you’re working with people that you genuinely enjoy rolling up your sleeves with, that’s what makes all the difference in the world. I’ve said it many times since joining the team 5 years ago, there’s not one single person out of the 85 employees we have here that I don’t really love working with, and that’s pretty special.

What was the move like from the Midwest to Atlanta?
I am definitely the kind of person that will embrace change. I’ve moved from Colorado to Kansas, Kansas to Missouri, and now I’ve landed in Atlanta. Going from a city with 1-2 million people to close to 7 million is a big change and I don’t think I have to tell anyone about the traffic differences. What I love about Atlanta is the diversity within the city, the endless entertainment options, and the location. There’s plenty to do from a travel perspective (love all those non-stop flights) and you’re a short drive from many of the surrounding beaches. I’m proud to now call Atlanta home.
What is it you enjoy most about the people at Experience?
One key thing that sticks out to me is how incredibly motivated everyone is, which is not always the case at bigger companies. Everybody here is extremely nice and wants to take the time to help one another. The cherry on top is the folks that we hire here are smart. We have a team of people who embrace change every day and that is really incredible. When you have a nucleus of people within the company that all believe in change and understand how it will help us get to where we want to be, that’s something to value and is very rare in the business world.

What’s made you the most proud during your time at Experience?
Joining the team in the early days as the 9th employee, we probably had 30 to 35 partners and almost five years later we have more than 350. This accomplishment is by no means attributed to any one person and it really shows the collective investment that everybody has in the company to keeping us heading in the right direction.
Where do you see Experience going in the next 5 years?
I certainly get excited about what we’ve been able to accomplish in the live entertainment industry, as that’s been our bread and butter and focus since day one. What also excites me is the fact that we have a technology that is so flexible it can eventually migrate into other verticals both within and outside of the live entertainment world. I can say with confidence that our next five years will be some of our best.
Why would you tell a prospective employee to come to Experience?
If you truly want to come into a situation where the work that you do is going to have an impact and you’re going to feel that impact on our business and the industry, Experience is where you want to be. We believe in the ability of our people making a difference and value how much folks enjoy the work they do. There are opportunities to both grow in an existing role and advance your career across various areas of the business. I think the combination of all of these things really is our appeal to the wheel house for what most people value in a company. I do feel there are many people out there that don’t necessarily like going to work everyday, but I truly believe the 85 folks here really do enjoy it.
